The "Community Lab" entry page for iGEM 2014 has been posted here;

Community labs will be able to compete alongside traditional iGEM teams for the same prizes. Teams will be eligible for the Grand Prize, as well as other prizes such as the Best Human Practices, Best Software and Best Part awards.

They list a number of "tracks", which they describe as "Tracks in the iGEM competition allow teams to focus their project towards a specific subject area within synthetic biology and allow them to know who they will compete against for the track award. Traditionally iGEM teams have chosen to enter their projects into one of the following tracks: "

I propose entering the "Not the IGem competition" dance routine into the Art & Design category... ;-)

The "NOT the IGEM Competition" competition

This will be an evening of drinking in which teams compete to illustrate principles of molecular biology via the medium of MODERN INTERPRETIVE DANCE.

To get the ball rolling, I enter a team of myself and Simon, illustrating the MAP ERK pathway.

However I think we might have to recruit some more members to play the parts of SOS and GRB2...
