What I'm working on

I joined the Hackspace at the end of May 2013 and interested in almost everything. I know a bit of the graphical programing language Processing, and have recently created my first instructable here which can split an image you give it into different thresholds and neatly arrange it in a format that would print on an A4 piece of paper. The paper can be cut and folded (and covered in oil to make it a bit more transparent), and when it is held to the light it produces an interesting image. I intent to use the output of this file on a laser printer so its more true to a lithophane.

I have finished writing a sketch on processing that can use frames from a gif image and convert it into a circular moire type pattern. I want to clean it up a bit but intend to stick it on instructables soon.

I am keen to start a physical electronics project soon, working on a different sort of scrolling display, to explore a bit more on microcontrollers, and just investigate whether it can be done.

I attend the Not Just Arduino meetings whenever I can. I also like to see the interesting things that they have at the Music Hack Space. I would like to work on a simple electronic instrument in the future.

About me

I studied Materials Science in the University of Oxford and graduated in 2011. I'm currently working at a school in north west London as a lab technician(and constantly getting told off for not getting my lazy ass out of there and getting a better job). I am the person they call when something is broken. I think I'm really good at finding out why something isn't working and how to fix it. My brain sometimes forgets to turn off and I'm constantly coming up with new inventions (at the moment still on paper) and I hope with the hack space I'll be able to make some of these a reality.

Some Random ideas

Vortex cannon pulse jet

Colin Furze has made a pulse jet bike, and Jem Stansfield made a Vortex Cannon. Can the pulse jet and vortex cannon be combined to make a vortex cannon pulse jet thing?
