Old Hackspace Kitchen

Status

This is for the old hackspace and is now wrong.

Tasks

• Run last length of water pipe
• Run waste pipe to loo in 23
• Run power to back room from distro
• Obtain worktops and drawers
• Finalise arrangement of under counter storage
• Remove carpet
• Tile/level floor
• Fit extraction
• Move from 23, or obtain new water heater
• Move sink from outside loos (New sink obtained and fitted....)

Glasses

We have lots of glasses. There is still a boxful in the workshop - intended as extra stock for parties (including loans for your own events) - as well as the ones in the small kitchen cupboard.

I think there may be a half-box under the T shirts too. These can be used in the space or taken for your own use if you wish. A small donation in the beer tin would be welcome, but not essential. --Artag 21:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Oven

We have an oven! It is sitting in the Workshop waiting to be installed. We won this EOU 5330 W electrolux oven & EHP 6602 K hob, not single and not as shiny as the Neff hob but better than it looks in that picture ; and only a fiver so we can chuck it out when we find something better. *** Fitted JUL 2012, now connected and working ***

• NB whoever installs the cooker should be aware that it will need its own dedicated circuit from the fusebox. Do not just plug it into a 13A socket (unless it's unusually low-power). Example instructions: [

There's a lot more to running power to an oven than that page suggests. We will do this properly. In the meantime, if anyone's a qualified spark, or has significant experience with electric installation, and is willing to spare the time, feel free to contact us on IRC.

Hob

We won this for £20 in an auction, which is a decent hob. We need to determine whether it should be used instead of the cooker hob. *** Fitted JUL 2012, now connected and working ***

• There's no special reason to use the electrolux hob - no controls integrated or anything, and the Neff hob has no knobs to capture dirt. But there's also the possibility of fitting both - would be useful for cooking larger meals, and wouldn't really affect the use as a worktop when not in use.
  • I think 8 hobs is overkill for any purpose we will realistically have. This hob is nicer, but if we are keeping the other one then the knobs will be there anyway - can't see that it is reasonable to fit both. Can the hob on the elecrtolux be separated from the oven? If not I think it would be best to keep this one in a box until we get a modern oven. Robert 08:16, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
  • Yes, the electrolux hob is completely separate from the oven and probably interchangeable with the Neff in terms of worktop cutout.
    • I would be in favor of just scrapping the electrolux then, assuming there is no technical justification for using it over the Neff. Robert 20:08, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
