Microsoft have released a new controller that can follow you around the room, and therefore we must have one.
- Colour VGA Motion Camera: 640x480 pixel resolution @30FPS
- Depth Camera: 640x480 pixel resolution @30FPS
- Array of 4 microphones supporting single speaker voice recognition
The depth information has already been reverse engineered, thanks to a bounty from Adafruit.
Games on the XBOX 360 can use body and voice recognition for game control. The voice recognition is great, because the microphones let it filter out background noise.
There is apparently also a custom processor that does the skeletal tracking for you. This hasn't been open sourced yet.
