A simple dipole antenna for use on the 2m and 70cm amateur radio bands. Built to this design.
The larger element is 1m, the smaller 35cm making it a half-wave (λ/2) on both bands. I've been using it mainly with a cheap 5W handheld radio (a Baofeng UV-5R) and it has proved pretty effective, especially on 2m. It folds up quite small and will fit in a backpack. It may benefit from the addition of a balun.
