New Hackspace

We moved! So much has been happening, the news may lag behind a bit.

The new rent is 4 times as much as our previous space, so we're currently in a spending freeze until we can make up the subscriptions. We can currently support ourselves for up to 3 months maximum.

Space Warming Party

We had a space warming party and barbecue to celebrate the new space, with a huge number of people visiting.

RFID Access

We've had people in the space every evening since we moved in, and we've finally got a cool hacker entry system for members.

Jonty installed a new pan/tilt camera

Pledges

After a failed eBay bid a new way of purchasing high-value equipment has been pioneered. This has been necessary for coping with the spending freeze.

So far we've received pledges for:

  • Fridge
  • Laser Cutter
  • MIG welder
  • Bubble Etch Tank

Workshops

Arduino

Metal Workshop Equipment Loan

Nigel Worsley has loaned a large amount of metal working equipment to the Hackspace.

Elliot broke the bandsaw blade - he has replaced it with a selection of others.

Revenue Ideas

Ideas have been batted around to improve the financial situation of the hackspace.
