BUILD YOUR OWN SYNTH MODULE - BY BEFACO
Hands on workshop: build your own synth modules on eurorack format.
We provide all the necessary components to build your device from scratch.
Each participant builds her/his own machine during the workshop.
Duration: 2 independent days (~8 hours/day)
Dates: 7th and 8th December 2013
Location: London Hackspace Classroom
Max participants: 18
Target audience: People interested in analog synthesis, modulars, experimentation, DIY, performance, sound.
Language: English / Spanish
Material Costs: NO FEE, just pay for the kits you build. Kits include PCB and all electronic parts.
Required skills: interest and patience. No previous experience in electronics is necessary.
Required materials: Fine tip soldering iron less than 25w (if possible).
Participants can choose to build any of the Befaco modules that are available.
Available modules are:
VCO 3. Precision Oscillator with sub-octave and octave selector (170 GBP)

QUAD VCA Four amplifiers in minimum size (100 GBP)
Dual Atenuverter (50 GBP)

Mixer Small size four channel DC coupled mixer(50 GBP)
Sample and hold + Lag processor (80 GBP)
Power bus. Regulated Standard Euro Power bus (43 GBP)
Power supply. 60w switched power supply (30 GBP)
Befaco is a Synth DIY/open hardware platform based in Barcelona, focussed on designing modules and organizing modular synth workshops each month in Madrid, Barcelona and Berlin. [befaco.org]
Everyone is welcome to come by and have a look at how the modules are made, ask questions about modular synths or ask for advice for any hardware-based sound/music projects.
