Workshops/Brain Computer Interface

From London Hackspace Wiki

Brain Computer Interface / BCI at LHS

There's been interest in exploring brain-computer interfaces - ie, ways to read a human's brainwaves and use the output for either art, or controlling software and hardware.

Events

Our next event is Wednesday January 26th at 7pm at the hackspace. Sam from the Paris Tmp Lab give us a talk about BCI and demo their current project.

Equipment

  • Comparison of consumer BCIs - We'll probably buy one of these
  • NeuroSky MindSet
    • The helmet that seems to be the most practical for tinkering around (thoughts?). "(...)uses proprietary algorithms to calculate the observed types of brain behavior(...)"
    • I've just bought one of these and my first impression is that it's hard to tell which sucks worse, the software or the hardware... but I'll give it another try next week and report back here. --AndyE 23:49, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
    • Update: the hardware's definitely faulty, and they're being difficult about paying for the return postage. --AndyE 17:14, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
  • MindSet white papers
