Summary
I want to make art prints using a press. The space no longer has a press in it, so I moved the idea of building one from "someday" to "yesterday".
Purpose
Symmetrically exerting large amounts of force on flat things. Not being a vice. Not getting dented, or stained with ink or paint.
Status
The baseplate, travelling block, and pillars have been rough-cut but not finished. The top plate still needs cutting. Everything needs shaping, staining, and varnishing.
I need to acquire a car jack, bolt one side to the top plate, and screw the other to the travelling block.
After that, all that will remain to do is to fix tension cables and test it out.
