Bambu P1S Induction
The induction signup page for the Bambu Labs P1S 3D printer. While a few parts are specific to this printer, most content applies to all FDM-type 3D printers.
Induction
Induction will include:
- Safety instruction, i.e. how the printer could harm you
- Care while using the printer, i.e. how you could harm the printer
- Care for the print job, i.e. how you could mess up the print
- What would make a 3D model suitable for 3D printing, and what would be difficult to print.
- Preparing an STL via Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer
- Preparing the printer
- Printing
- Tidying up afterwards, including paying for time and materials used.
Induction will not necessarily include:
- How to use some random 3D CAD package, especially one that the inductors haven't used themselves. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with a 3D CAD package so as not to create near-impossible geometry before attempting to do your own prints.
The inductors have decided to introduce a fee for inductions, which is £10 per person. This goes to the inductor for giving up their time, not only for induction, but also for the time they spend maintaining and organising replacement materials/parts. (reference)
Please include your name and hackspace membership number, if known, when booking inductions - this makes it easier for us to add you to the access list when inducted.
