Glass

Regarding the glass, have you tried calling Pilkington directly? They are the only source of pattern laminated glass (i.e. windscreens) domestically. Rumour has it they never throw away the moulds and will cheerfully dig out the required one for a min order of two pieces. Side (toughened) glass is not nearly so much of a problem if it's flat. Many decent local glaziers can get this made to order.

Ebay does turn up rotten gen 2 Hiaces from time to time, though now is the wrong time of year to be looking for a bargain. You can also try putting wanted posts on RetroRides, AutoShite, OldJapaneseCar forums and at a stretch the Toyota Enthusiasts Club forum.
