I'm playing with 7-segment displays - mainly working out the cheapest way to drive a big-ish (2") clock display at acceptable brightness from an AVR chip. I have a basic time display working on 4 elements. I've also got a "Symtrik" radio time receiver, but haven't decoded the protocol yet, and I'm looking at making some pleasant alarm tones without resorting to sampled sound.
