Quill run out is approximately 0.010mm - should be <0.002mm. Chuck runout is anything up to 10x this. Your holes may be oval!
9 Aug 2013 - sjrapid and will took the arbour and chuck off, and tested the quill run out with a dial indicator. Also tested with a new certified chuck and arbour (0.0012 TIR). Measured run out of about 0.25mm on the new chuck. TIR not measured on the existing keyless chuck.
We now have a drill press. The keyless chuck only goes down to 2.7 mm, so we need to get a "[http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/143-0127/pin-chuck-auto-3-jaw/dp/1518437 pin chuck]". Russsss found one at the Crystal Palace workshop apparently, but I don't know where it is. | We now have a drill press.
