London Hackspace news for 31 march- 7th april
General space news
- An effort is being made to get a load of stuff of dubious utility out of the dirty room. Please remove any junk you have dumped there that won't be actively used soon.
- Please could anyone who has taken a parking permit return them as soon as possible. [1]
Upcoming events
Equipment
- The laser printer was reported as not working, it's fine, the cable taped into the USB hub under the desk is suspect. Any volunteers to sort it out better, remembering that important stuff may stop working if the pile of cables under there is disturbed...
- Setting up of the 3-in-1 Lathe Milling Machine is in progress
- Russ, Adrian, Phish and Phil have set up the PCB etching tank, it is now available for members to use. [2]
- Do you have a use for the Environmental Chamber ? It's taking up a load of space, we need to reclaim the space if it is not going to be used.
Projects
- Samthetechie and Harry are building repraps.
- The pledge to buy an expensive high-security bike chain has been dormant for a while so an alternative plan using whatever is lying around is in the works. AJP made a start on welding lengths of chain to a bit of scaffolding pole. Waiting for bigger welding rods.
- A vacuum tube audio amplifier is being built in the space
