Plotmate A3M - PCB plotter conversion

Plotmate A3M plotter

Plotmate A3M plotter that appeared in the robotics area sometime in early 2015. As it has a standard pen holder it can be used to apply etch resist directly onto clean copper boards to allow for quick circuit prototyping similar to (but much larger than) MartinP's mini plotter. It would make a single large board for the HSRDP much simpler. After we get it to work it will be offered to the general membership for use as a plotter.

Status

It's been checked and works well mechanically but does not seem to respond to any serial commands, although that's without using the (BBC) software it's designed to work comes with.

According to the manual it supports the following modes:

  • BBC VDU
  • GRAPHTEC/WATANABE
  • SWEET-P
  • DIRECT
  • EXPANSION
