Used for growing G. hansenii or kombucha culture.

Using a balance weigh out the following and transfer to a 1 litre screwcap bottle:
- 100g caster sugar
- 1 teabag of black or green tea
Add around 800ml of 100°C water
Remove teabag after 15 minutes
Add 100ml cider vinegar measured using a measuring cylinder
Mix until all the additives are dissolved
Make up to 1 litre with water
Autoclave
