Variable PSU
The broken power supply is now fixed. I think the failure may have been due to a tear in the silicone sleeve insulating the power switching transistors, resulting in them both blowing and shorting the mains. May be worth replacing this in both supplies with something untearable.

The welder that's been donated works, has a big spool of wire and a regulator for disposable bottles. There is also a simple mask and a couple of gas bottles.
