General space news
- The hackspace is current experiencing a small amount of financial difficulty due to having to pay rates following a unsuccessful discount application. There are plans in motion to register the hackspace as a charity which would achieve a mandatory 80% rates discount and make us eligible for gift aid on donations. [1]
- The Hackvan is missing and believed stolen. If you know anything about it, please contact Glen (glen2 on IRC) immediately. [2]
- Simon and Luke are discussing starting a metal store. [3]
Equipment
- A copy of 'Nomadic Furniture' has been added to the library.
- A lab table has been added to the hackspace. [4]
- Funding has been raised for a desoldering gun. [5]
- A colllection of tools has been obtained from an old workshop that was being closed down. [6]
Upcoming events
There is a (board) games day planned for Satuday 28th in the quiet room from 13:30, everyone is invited feel free to BYOB and BYOG(ames). [7]
- Suke are holding a Hackday on Sunday 29th. [8]
- We have asked if we are interested in getting involved in the Festival of Britain on August 13th & 14th. [9]
- Interest has been expressed in a Dungeons and Dragons night. [10]
- Some discussion about how to get to CCCCamp has taken place. [11]
