Flux has pledged for a Kicksat satellite dev kit. It's due in May 2012.

First Steps

Get some MSP430 experience. Several people in the space have mentioned having boards.

We have at least 3 MSP430 devkits in the space, The toolchain is a bit icky tho, but I think we have enough incentive to fix that now.

The Hardware

We don't get to design the hardware on this mission, just program it.

"Just to give you an idea of what you'll be working with, the microcontroller on the Sprite is an MSP430 from Texas Instruments. The exact part that will be used in the flight units has not been decided yet, but it will have at bare minimum 2 kB of RAM and 8 kB of flash memory."

Experiment

Any ideas for what we can actually do with it once its in orbit?

Ground Station

We need one of these.
