What I'm working on

I joined the Hackspace at the end of May 2013 and interested in almost everything. I know a bit of the graphical programming language Processing, I love making sketched on the phone app while on the tube. I have a cool animation maker I had developed using processing that you can get here but first check out the demo video here

I've made a HowDo guide to help get started with ATtiny chips and I would like to make a few things on this chip.

I attend the Not Just Arduino meetings whenever I can. I also like to see the interesting things that they have at the Music Hack Space. I would like to work on a simple electronic instrument in the future.

About me

I studied Materials Science in the University of Oxford and graduated in 2011. I'm currently working at a school in north west London as a lab technician. I think I'm really good at finding out why something isn't working and how to fix it. I love science and constantly learning something new. My brain sometimes forgets to turn off and I'm constantly coming up with new inventions (at the moment still on paper) and I hope with the hack space I'll be able to make some of these a reality.

Some things I want to make

Physically moving displays for increased resolution

This is a concept I would like to test out. The idea is that a low resolution array of pixels like that in a led matrix can be physically shifted in the x and y directions by an amount 1/2 of the distance between the led. The display will need a faster refresh rate but this could quadruple the resolution of the initial display. I am investigating different mechanical methods to shift the screen in the two axis and I think it might be doable with this mechanism. If you're interested in this concept tell me on my twitter.
