A robust high-speed industrial sewing machine, with a fairly intimidating top speed (5500 stitches per minute according to the specification). Acquired in 2013.

Speed modification

Previously there has been talk about slowing down or speed controlling this machine. This appears to have stalled due to the large move and Covid.

We are currently discussing possibilities for slowing down or speed controlling this machine.Best option probably large DC motor and pwm control; watch this space.

Troubleshooting

Previous Troubleshooting examples:

  • Check that the tension spring is clocked fully to the right when not loaded with thread. The thread should pull against the spring under tension, and vice-versa when the thread tension is lower on the opposite needle stroke.
  • If the machine is not threading, and you have the bobbin and top thread set up correctly, re-check the needle installation direction (against the manual!). If backwards, it can cause inconsistent or lack of stitching.
