The aim of this is to make better use of the space occupied by member storage shelves - checkout the existing layout and proposed layouts.

In summary I think the proposed layout is better because:

Sticks out no further than current arrangement
Provides more wall space for hanging storage
Aisles are open and visible so might not so readily fill up with stuff
End of aisle wall could be used for hanging
Long items could be stored across shelves at the back, towards the wall
Room to add another row of 6 shelves in a space where you could only add another 3 with the current arrangement
