The log that was forgotten.
In the rush to get the cutter back up after the psu fail I forgot to add this in.
The PSU "blew up" and died. A replacement was sent but had an odd fault that would speckle engraves with dots and would still output with the lid interlock open.
I found that there are 2 interlocks, one that used to be the flow interlock - this seems to be a closed contact interlock loop, and the other is the lid interlock that is inline with the "laser on/off" 5v active low line. There is also an analog power level line. This line seems to be active low with a pull up on the psu end of the line. In normal operation when the interlock is broken this line should be pulled up by the psu and not activate the tube. Attaching the line to an oscilloscope with the help of Jasper I could see that the line was dropping to 0v at regular intervals no matter what level was coming from the controller or if the interlock was broken.
Comparing the old and new psu the only difference was that the old one had the laser indicator led removed and jumpered to pin one, with pin one connected to a led on the cutter's front panel. The replacement psu didn't have this led removed and I assume it didn't have it jumped to pin 1 either.
Removing the case led from pin one seemed to make the psu run normally and hooking it up to an oscilloscope showed the odd dropping to 0v on the on/off line had vanished.
All in all very odd error, but seems fixed now.
