== Javascript developers @ Caplin Systems http://www.caplin.com ==
We write real time (Comet) web based trading applications in Javascript, Java and C for the finance sector. We are often looking for contractors, perms (senior and junior) in all three languages but mostly JS. We use our own form of agile, CI, automated deployment, unit tests, selenium tests etc.
We are also looking to fill these roles.
* Senior Javascript developer
* Junior Technical Author
* Project Manager
* Development Manager
* QA Lead
* x 2 Technical Support Consultants
* Professional Services Development Manager
Caplin is a great place to work with stocked kitchen, opportunity for travel and some really interesting projects. I have more detailed job specs if interested. I have to warn you all we have a pretty intensive recruitment process that involves the normal phone interviews, paired coding exercises, written tests etc. If required skills or experience isn't up to scratch you will be weeded out very quickly and we have high standards (I don't mean to sound like a twat BTW, it just we waste a lot of time with people who have installed a jQuery plugin one time and think they are qualified).

Linux/Unix Sysadmin @ NetDev (http://netdev.co.uk)

We're a small (< 20 people) company based in Brighton specialising in teleco application development. We're currently looking for a creative Linux/Unix sysadmin to join an internal team of six to manage one specific VoIP conferencing platform for one of our clients. The platform runs a mixture of Open Source and proprietary tech, running on Linux. All our infrastructure is managed devops style with puppet.

To apply you need solid command line skills and at least three years experience admining Linux boxes in a commercial environment. You need to have a good understanding of what makes TCP/IP networks tick and be proficient at scripting (shell, ruby, perl or python). Knowing a few of these is a good bonus:

Database administration (Oracle 10g, Oracle TimesTen, MySQL); VOIP (SIP, RTP,
FreeSWITCH); Network sniffing and protocol analysis (tcpdump/wireshark); Java
applications (installation/tuning/troubleshooting); J2EE application servers
(Jboss); Scalability, clustering, high availability (Veritas Cluster Server);
RedHat Linux and RPM packaging; Source code management (subversion); ticketing
systems (JIRA); Automated server deployment (PXE, Kickstart); Configuration
management systems (puppet); JMS messaging (ActiveMQ); CI systems
(Jenkins/Hudson); Automated testing processes and tools (Cucumber/Selenium);
Monitoring (Nagios/OpenNMS)

Don't worry if you don't know everything, we're happy to provide training where necessary. Having passion for systems and a bit of a clue are most important.

If you fancy working in a relaxed and hacker friendly environment, where everyone has a say, please get in touch. Send your CV to jane.brown@netdev.co.uk and mention that you found us through the London Hackspace.
